Course Description

Everything you need to start teaching English effectively in a one-to-one environment is provided in this course. There are various sections which deal with one-to-one methodology, materials and resources, student motivation and freelance advice for this lucrative sector of the industry. During this course, you will learn how to teach by making use of technology in your classroom as well as how to teach with minimal resources.

It is written by EFL professionals with a wealth of experience in planning and delivering practical one-to-one classes in English. Creative use of video, podcasts, images and text will be taught, with resourceful links to websites where you can find materials suitable for adaptation into a one-to-one classroom environment
During the course, you will be sourcing material for your own one-to-one classes, thinking about course design and creating tailor-made lessons for individual students. When the course is complete, you will receive a free one-year subscription to Handouts Online, which will provide you with online materials for your one-to-one classroom.

Eligibility
This course is specifically designed for existing EFL teachers who wish to enhance their career and learn more about teaching in this specialized area of English. All applicants must already hold a TEFL certificate (minimum 70 hour course) and/or have a minimum of 12 months of experience in teaching EFL. This course is open to all native and non-native English speakers with a high level of written and spoken English.

Course duration
The course is approximately 30 study hours in length and usually takes around 4 – 6 weeks to complete. However, as it is done in students own time, from home, work or even while travelling, and students can take up to 6 months. The course can be completed anywhere.

Assessment
Marking and grading is done by a personal tutor, who can be contacted by phone or email in case you need any help or advice. The final grade is awarded on the following scale: A, B or Pass. On successful completion students receive a Teaching One-to-one Certificate from the course provider.
