Course Description
This diploma is TESL Canada recognized and is necessary if you wish to teach English in Canada. This course can be used for both overseas and locally and is a great choice for those that wish to teach ESL as a career. The course covers all areas of theory, methodology, lesson planning, language skills, classroom tools and assessment specifically for teaching adults. There is also a mandatory 20 hour practicum where student-teachers are able to utilize their skills during the course. The practicum is organized and completed at the training centre. Our TESL Diploma program is recognized by TESL Canada and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
In order to apply, a university degree, a language score (for non native English speakers), the online application and an admissions interview is required.
Accommodation Options
Accommodation available in a student residence, which is walking distance to the school. The residence consists of single rooms and a shared bathroom and kitchen with 2-3 other students. Meals are not included. The cost is $210 per week.
Homestay is also available with a single room. Students can choose from full board for $210 per week or half board for $190.
Please note that a $195 placement fee will apply.
School Details - Toronto Jarvis Street
The school is located downtown and is walking distance to the subway, Eaton’s Centre as well as restaurants and cafes. The school is an old mansion, which gives a homey, friendly atmosphere. The school consists 80% of ESL students and 20% of teacher training students.
There is a well equipped teachers room that has resources for both learning and teaching. They have many books to help you learn about theory and to help you create lesson plans that are educational and effecive.

All program graduates will have one to one assistance in finding employment locally or overseas. Assistance is available at any time throughout a graduates career and includes:

3. Download the application form and save it on your computer.
4. Complete it offline in your own time
5. Go back to www.cactustefl.com, sign in and submit your completed form.
6. We will keep you posted by email throughout the process.
