Course Description

The Trinity College LTCL TESOL is a significantly higher qualification than the Certificate in TESOL and is internationally recognised as an advanced award.

The course leads to the award of two qualifications - the Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in TESOL (120 M level points) and the Trinity College Licentiate Diploma in TESOL.

Subjects covered include • phonology • grammar and linguistics • language acquisition • discourse analysis • classroom dynamics • syllabus design • contemporary approaches to language teaching • classroom based research

The postgraduate diploma carries 120 level M credits towards MA TESOL.

Entry requirements:

People applying for the course will normally have a degree, a certificate level qualification in TESOL and at least two years experience of teaching ESOL.

Professional recognition:

The qualification is for those who have teaching experience and are seeking to further their careers by gaining access to more senior TESOL posts worldwide. Our TESOL Centre is accredited by the British Council's English in Britain Accreditation Scheme (EiBAS).

Assessment:

Continuous assessment of on-line assignments, assessment of classroom based portfolio and classroom teaching, external assessment by Trinity College London.
