Customer Feedback
The premises were lovely and situated very centrally in Cheltenham. There was also a nice buzz about the place and, whilst on a taster day we did not have trainers as such, the staff were quite helpful on the day.

Very thorough course, has prepared me well for work as teacher

Course Description
Further Certificate for Teachers of Business English (FCTBE)
To respond to the rapid increase in demand for Business English teachers, the school offers a one-week intensive programme of training to help you diversify your skills. To gain a formal qualification, the course concludes with a 2.5 hour written exam paper accredited by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Examination Board.
The course is split into three key areas:
- Professional Skills: including needs analysis, course design, feedback and "the client approach".
- Materials and Methodology: including using authentic materials, classroom approaches, teaching groups and one-to-one.
- Business Concepts and Practices: an overview of the key issues in business
Most course participants have, as a minimum, an initial English teaching qualification (such as the Certificate in TESOL). Some people have more extensive teaching experience and some also come to the course with previous business experience.
The FCTBE is available as a joint course with the certificate in TESOL over six weeks at a discounted fee.
Accommodation Options
Homestay accommodation can be arranged for you by the school. Cost for single room, self-catering is from £80 per week. The cost for a single room on half-board would be from £108 per week.
School Details - Cheltenham
The school was opened in 1990 and since then has established a strong reputation for high quality language training combined with an extremely personal service, paying particular attention to the needs of all clients.
The school is located in two beautiful, neighbouring Regency buildings in the town centre.
The main school is a medium-sized school offering the ideal combination of quality teaching and a high degree of personal contact with all our students. It is a beautiful Regency villa built in 1796. Located just 30 metres from the High Street, it is superbly positioned for access to buses, shops, restaurants and pubs. This building is used for all adult group courses and for teacher training.
The Business and Professional Language Training Centre was opened in 1998 to better meet the needs of our many business and professional clients. Here you can meet business people from all over the world, including England, enjoy a training programme designed to meet your needs and at the same time, still enjoy all the extra facilities offered by the main school next door.
In spite of its central position, you could easily be forgiven for thinking that the school is out of the town centre, thanks to its beautiful garden and peaceful location.
The high standards of our courses, our teaching staff, our accommodation services and our extra-curricular activities have all been officially and objectively recognised by external bodies.
The school is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English as a Foreign Language to Adults and is accredited under the British Government's "Investor in People" scheme.
