The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of all operations and functions in South Africa, comprising the Cape Town school and Kruger, St Cypriens and Zingkwazi Beach CampsOur client is a well-established, dynamic international language school group. They have over 25 years' experience of providing excellent language tuition and exciting leisure activities for adults and young learners at their schools in the UK, USA and South Africa and partner centres worldwide. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a General Manager at their wonderfully located Cape Town centre.
Pre-requisites
Key Responsibilities
· Provide Business Drive and lead a team of Senior and Middle managers in the Academic, Administration, Operations, and Sales departments to improve the school’s top line, bottom line and return maximum customer satisfaction in accord with agreed budgets and targets
· Oversee daily operations of the school to include overall responsibility for best practise in terms of Academic Operations, Contractual Management, Customer Services, Electronic Systems & IT, Estates Maintenance and Upgrading, Financial Administration, Extra Curricular Operations, Health & Safety, Human Resources, Licensing arrangements, Relationships with Affiliate Bodies, Sales - Marketing & Reservations and Student Welfare.
· Representing the school at Group Level meetings and conferences.
· Taking responsibility for costing and pricing products and services
· Liaising and coordinating with The Group Management and Marketing Services team (UK based) to ensure consistency and maintenance of group standards
· Liaising & coordinating with in-house Management Accountants and financial controlling departments.
Skill Range
Essential:
Experience & Qualifications
· University Degree
· experience in Senior Management position
· Knowledge of the ELT Industry
· Knowledge of Africa, especially South Africa in a working context
