Job Description

English teachers for children in various centres in Japan. This is a 12 month renewable contract involving teaching small groups from 3 to 15 years. Average teaching load is 3 to 4 hours per day. Teachers usually work in 4 different centres, one per week and accommodation is provided in a convenient centrally placed apartment. Transport to work costs are reimbursed. Contracts begin with a 2 week training period where teachers are introduced to the materials, courses and methodology of Peppy Kids Club. All materials and lesson plans are provided.
Salary is 250000 yen (about £1880), income tax is 5% and there is an end-of-contract bonus of 130000. 26 days off a year plus weekends (Sun,Mon). There will be an opportunity to travel to other areas of Japan

Pre-requisites

We need graduates who are genuinely interested in teaching children and have an affection for them.
They should also be:
lively - to engage with the children,
responsible - to take charge of children for an hour and to deal with arrivals and departures and
energetic - to cope with an active teaching style.
Preferred: some experience with working with children on a personal, voluntary or professional basis.
