Job Description

Japan English teachers for children in various centres in Japan. This is a 12 month renewable contract involving teaching small groups from 3 to 15 years. Average teaching load is 3 to 5 hours per day. Teachers usually work in 4 different centres, one per week and accommodation is provided in a convenient centrally placed apartment. Transport to work costs are reimbursed. Contracts begin with a 2 week training period where teachers are introduced to the materials, courses and methodology of Peppy Kids Club. Salary is 250000 yen (about £1250), income tax is 5% and there is an end-of-contract bonus of 130000. 26 days off a year plus weekends (Sun,Mon). There will be an opportunity to travel to other areas of Japan.

Teach Children in China Lolokids, a leading provider of English to young learners in China, have several positions available for native speaker teachers in and around the Shanghai area. Teachers will teach classes and some demo lessons to groups aged 3 to 11 on a one-year contract. Contact time per month is 60 hours and, while much of this may be at the weekend, a 5-day week is assured. Teachers will also assist in materials preparation and development.

Candidates should be genuinely interested in teaching children and have some experience in working with them professionally or voluntarily. Tefl or Tesol qualified applicants are preferred but not essential as initial training will be given. A degree is essential for working visa purposes.
Accommodation is subsidised and travel to work, if necesssary, reimbursed. All visa expenses will be covered by Lolokids. salary including housing allowance is 7000 RMB per month tax free with 5500 RMB airline contribution bonus on completion.

We are looking for people with a genuine interest and affection for children. Training is given on arrival in China.

Pre-requisites

We need people who are genuinely interested in teaching children and have an affection for them.
They should also be:
lively - to engage with the children,
responsible - to take charge of children for an hour and to deal with arrivals and departures and
energetic - to cope with an active teaching style.

Skill Range

Preferred: some experience with working with children on a personal, voluntary or professional basis, a degree and a valid passport. Tefl qualifications are not needed as training is given
