Course ref: 5812
Course Type: Teaching other languages

Min Age: 21
Maximum Class Size: 18
Class Times: 9.30 - 14.00 - first week. 9:30 - 17.30 - from the second week.

School Details - Seville

This school, part of an international network of schools, is located in the heart of town just 10 minutes walking distance to the cathedral and 2 minutes to Plaza Nueva. The building is a typical Andalucian house with a reception desk on the ground floor, training director's office, teachers' room, classrooms, internet access, kitchen, vending machines and common room on the second and third floors and a large roof terrace. The classrooms are large and bright and they are equipped with a range of materials; there are also TVs and videos as teaching aids.

The school advertises locally for Spanish students that would like to take English lessons. The foreign language school that we work with, located 1 minute from this centre, can often provide volunteer students and further support for trainee teachers. The school also has its own cafe/bar (serving drinks and tapas) that is on the same street. This provides an excellent meeting place for both teachers and students from all over the world.

You can't quite put your finger on it at first. But as you move between plazas and make your way through the maze of narrow winding streets, you notice the fruit - as much on the ground as in the trees - and eventually recognise the sweet seductive smell as that of orange blossom. Set in the heart of Spain s southernmost province, Andalucia, Seville is warm in climate, character and people. Just like the Muslims some 1500 years ago, you can t help but fall under the spell of this magical city where the rhythmic tapping of flamenco heels and late afternoon cries from the plaza de toros are familiar, and enticing, sounds.

Methodology of teaching of Spanish as a second or foreign language that contains the aspects mentioned above and practical tutorials for the preparation of afternoon classes.

From 15.00 to 17.30 (from the second week)
Practical classes with volunteer students and reflection with the tutor and classmates. These practical classes will be from Monday to Thursday. We grant this second part a special importance since it is here where the theoretical aspects learned in the morning sessions are put into practice. Classes are organized with volunteer foreign students. The schedules are always indicative and may be modified depending on the needs of each course. There will be an exchange of impressions about the practices carried out at the end of each class.

As a reflection of the entire learning process during the course, the teacher's portfolio should be completed, which will include relevant samples of the learning journals and practical classes. Said portfolio must be delivered on the last day of the course and it will be compulsory at the time of receiving the final grade of Pass / Fail along with the corresponding progress report. The final qualification of Pass will be indispensable to qualify for the recognition of the 6 ECTS credits through IL3 Continuing Education at the University of Barcelona.

A certificate will be given at the end of the course if you have attended at least 90% of the methodology sessions and 100% of the practical sessions. This certificate will be accompanied by a detailed and personalized report. For graduates, graduates, graduates and students completing their final year of studies, the University of Barcelona, ??through the Institute of Continuing Education IL3, certifies the intensive and extensive face-to-face courses for the training of Spanish teachers with an accreditation that supports 6 ECTS official credits. The certificate will be issued in the form and deadlines set by the university itself.

The certificate of these 6 ECTS credits is an official recognition valid throughout the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). To obtain this certificate, the course must be passed with a Pass. It will be compulsory to present the certification of the degree, undergraduate degree, university degree or last year of career at the time of requesting this document.

Those participants who do not obtain the qualification of Pass will receive, in their case, a certificate of attendance with the computation of hours corresponding to the sessions of methodology and practices.

Seville is fantastic and I think everyone in the world should go. The school is very well equipped and situated very conveniently in the city centre. The trainers were extremely good, very supportive and also provided prompt, honest and inciteful advice. Everyone I saw teach on the course improved significantly.
