Malaga

Malaga is an excellent city in which to live and study. Malaga is situated on the southern coast of Spain right on the Mediterranean Sea. It is centrally located and provides easy access to other cities such as Sevilla, Granada, and Cordoba. The average annual temperature is 23°C or 73°F. If that isn't enough to entice you, it has something for everyone. Malaga is culturally rich and offers various theatres, museums, plazas, tapas bars, Moorish tearooms (teterias), and stylish hotels, many featuring trendy rooftop terraces with bars, pools and stunning views. Within walking distance of each other are a castle, a Moorish palace, a Roman amphitheatre, Picasso's birth place, and the incomplete, yet charming cathedral, La Manquita.

Being on the coast, we cannot forget to mention Malaga's beaches and newly, beautifully renovated port Muelle Uno. This Mediterranean city is also a great shopping centre featuring Calle Larios: a large pedestrian street full of shops such as Mango, Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear, and Desigual to only name a few. In Malaga there are also several indoor commercial shopping malls and el Mercado Central de Atarazanas, the bustling main fresh food market.

For those of you who enjoy the nightlife, you will not be disappointed. The healthy mix of tourists, students, and native residents of all ages makes for a diverse and fun atmosphere when going out for the night. There are plenty of swanky restaurants and classy rooftop bars to begin the evening, followed by various types of night-clubs, rock bars, and flamenco shows to meet everyone's needs. Once the night is over there are taxi stops all over the city and most importantly there are places open until 5am to get a quick bite to eat.

Because Malaga has such a varied mix of nationalities visiting every year, the demand for English teachers is increasing. English is the default language for tourism in this city, so it won't be difficult to find work once you've received your TEFL certificate with us!
How to get to Malaga Pablo Ruiz Picasso Malaga International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Spain, with up to a staggering 16 million passengers annually. Regular or low-cost flights offered by AirEuropa, Ryanair, Iberia, Vueling, and Transavia to Malaga are available from most European airports.

Customer Feedback

"I like to learn through experience and putting into practice what I have learnt, and I found the course very practical. It was intensive and it went fast, but I enjoyed it a lot." - Fintan, 43

"I really enjoyed the whole course and I learnt even more than I expected. The course was very complete and professional. I learnt a lot about myself and how to prepare fun and productive lessons that help the students learn and progress without overly involving myself directly. I would highly recommend the course to those looking to build their confidence in the classroom and to learn loads of teaching skills." - Alba, 25

"The TEFL course is challenging, intense, and hard, but affords fantastic opportunities for learning new skills at an astonishing pace. It is all worth it when you experience just how quickly you learn, and how quickly you can put things into practice. From the moment you start, until the moment you finish, you are learning and training." - Tim, 23

"Do it! It is a great qualification to have, and so I would definitely recommend it to people who are interested... All the teachers in the 4 week training course have been great! Fun, knowledgeable, and very, very engaging!" - Rob, 26

"The most valuable teaching experience is teaching itself... All the activities during the classes were beneficial. You really get what you pay for. The teachers are excellent and it's a great value. You will look at teaching from a different perspective after this course." - Ewa, 29

"They taught me very little! Instead, they guided me to work out the answers and to find them myself and with my peers. Therefore I have retained so much more. There are valuable skills that we learnt during the course that can also be applied outside the classroom: in business, at work and in our day to day lives." - Tim, 43
