Cactus TEFL and The Guardian shortlist candidates for annual Suzanne Furstner scholarship
Judging panel selects top five contenders from scores of international entries
29 October 2007: Cactus, one of the world’s leading language training companies, today announces the shortlist for the first annual Suzanne Furstner Scholarship. The winner will be revealed at The Cactus TEFL Open Evening, held in conjunction with the Education Guardian, at the Guardian newsrooms in Farringdon on 21 November.
The scholarship will provide one candidate with a life-changing opportunity to train as an English teacher in Spain, with their CELTA course (Cambridge Certificate of Language Training to Adults), Spanish language course and travel all paid for by the Suzanne Furstner foundation. In addition to the Annual Scholarship, the Suzanne Furstner Foundation also provides support for educational projects in the UK and overseas, for adults and children. This includes assistance in the funding of State school study trips and the provision of new language learning aids such as books and DVDs.
